Flowers for the bride and brides maids should reflect the
style and color of the dresses, the type of ceremony and most of all, your own personal
preference.
Style & Color of Dresses:
This is nothing more than understanding how colors are best
grouped together. Your flowers should, in some cases, contrast the dress color. There is
no written rule on the color of flowers for a brides bouquet. Style of the bouquet
is somewhat different. For example, if your wedding dress and the dresses of your bridal
party are traditional, the flowers should be a traditional design. The same if your dress
and/or dresses are very stylish
Type of Ceremony:
The type of ceremony is as equally important in determining
the flowers for your wedding. First, whether you wedding is during the day or evening. Is
your wedding outdoors or indoors? The daytime wedding lends itself to being a little less
formal than the evening, and the flowers should reflect this. Bright colors in an airy
design are a good choice. The evening wedding, by nature, is a little more formal. A
monochromatic look of all white tones is a very classic and elegant look for flowers.
Your Own Taste:
This is probably the most important of all. Most professionals you hire for your
wedding have a wealth of knowledge and expertise. The guidelines and suggestions they give
you are just that. Remember it is your wedding day!
